Toyota Tech?
« on: August 23, 2015, 10:12:13 AM »
After wasting time replacing a fuel filter, which was harder than a fuel filter swap should be, guess I gotta change fuel pump. In the tank.  What's easiest?  Dropping the tank, or pulling the bed? Thanks guys.

Where do I find that?  On tank on,  near, around unit,   or in engine bay? Thanks buddy.

Wad thinking besides the lights,  the bed is like six bolts and the filler neck.  Thanks for the heads up.

This is driving me nuts.  New filter,  I haven't dropped the tank yet, but the two lines coming from it, if I pull the rubber off the hardline, I get good clean gas pouring out. I'm next to a busy hi way, so I can't hear the pump(should I be able to?), good charge on the battery, starter whirrs over, just have no way of knowing if fuel is getting to the intake.

Guys, I'm st a loss and can't keep driving my f250.
Thanks

can you crack a line near the fuel rail to check for fuel pressure? only time i had a problem with the fuel system on my toyota 22re was when the wiring harness over the bellhousing worn through and blew the efi fuse under the hood.

(my disclaimer is that I'm not familiar with Toyota design)  But for fuel pumps, should be able to turn the key but not activate the starter, the pump should start priming without any other truck noise.  I've crawled under and put my ear up against the tank or use a screwdriver and put the flathead against a part of the truck and ear up to the handle.  Sometimes just put a hand up next to the tank and feel it.

Can't hear nothing on the tank end. Unscrews a plastic bolt on a spring, at intake, then cranked... this mean bad fuel pump?

Either relay, ground or pump...unlikely multiple.
