:yeah: We were down that way this weekend and you might as well walk the river with how low it is.

Biggest problem is the river is the unit boundary between sled springs and wenaha.  Fall bear you'd be good to go but not spring. You could draw out one tag and your buddy the other tag.

Better have good maps.    Mostly private and mostly guarded jealously.

There is very little public ground that is huntable from the river. 4-0 owns quite a bit above Bogans, not to mention most everything between Bogans and Troy you could drive along the road. From Bogan's to Heller is mostly owned by one large landowner who flys around the entire piece every day in a helecopter looking for blaze orange and calling people in. It doesn't seem to stop people as I have witnessed many a drift boats pull in right next to posted signs and take shots at deer, but if he gets a hold of you I hear he will see to it you are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It is beautiful and rugged country, and a float for steelhead and smalleys is a great time, but I wouldn't recommend a hunting float trip unless you know the exact pieces you can legally hunt.

I have spent a tremendous amount of time on the Ronde, absolutely love that river.  However once you hit the land around it chances are you would be trespassing.  Take a gps with the landowner chip and you will see what I am talking about.
It's a TIKKA thing..., you may not understand.

Not between OR line and Bogans...Bogans to the mouth has some public huntable land. We saw quite a few bucks when i hunted that once and no hunters if you hike to the top.

And from bogans down to hellar you can pay to hunt on north side of river but south side is Dixon land. Don't even ask. He owns almost all the way to Joseph Oregon.

Put in just below looking glass and float to troy.  Lots of wilderness to hunt.  40miles of no roads.  The water is too low this year but you can always check with thee local fly shop in elgin.

This thread is in "out of state hunting" so it's safe to say he is talking about floating the river in Oregon
