Fischer Meats Experiences
« on: August 20, 2015, 09:58:35 PM »
Hi HW,

I did a search on the site, but didn't turn up much info.  Does anybody have a positive or negative review of Fischer Meats in Issaquah for game processing?  I live in Maple Valley.  I saw the great post listing all game processors. Thank you in advance for sharing your experience.

I had some pepperoni made there once about 10 years ago or so and it was inedible.  The worst I have have ever tasted.  Stay away from Linds also near you.  Their pepperoni was also horrible and they ripped me off, keeping half my meat I believe.  I now make my own or if I can get it there, Silvana meats.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

I've never used them but do know that if they are taking game it won't end up as good as if you do it yourself.

If your looking for wild game processing near Maple Valley. I would stop by Linds Meats. He is only 5 minutes from Maple Valley and does the best work around. If you want to sample his stuff, swing into the Maple Valley farmers market and give it a try. Free samples but I bet you walk away with some meat!
This is the year im going to get drawn, i can feel it. NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED... damn :(

I've always been happy with everything I've bought from Fischers.  I'm not sure if they take any wild game there I would just give them a call.  As far as my wild game goes I take everything to Linds Meats. Mike does a great job and I don't believe for a second the previous comment, "they kept half my meat I believe" If you didn't like your pepperoni, fine...that's your opinion and fact...but to say you "believe" they kept your meat is an ignorant comment. Sounds like you should just continue to do it yourself.  I would be confident in either place Orion81.

I stopped in a couple years ago right before my Sept. elk hunt, he said they were not taking in game but didn't offer up any info. seemed a bit weird as I left, but their landjager is awesome.

My experience with Fischer has always been great.  I am not sure if they have it anymore, but years past they had elk jerky that was amazing.  I regularly stop by for beef jerky.

I have never had anything processed there.

They will usually take wild game unless it's close to Thanksgiving because they don't have the room with all the turkey/hams/etc. they sell for the Holidays.

I have taken several animals there over the years.  Last year I took a moose and deer.

Summer Sausage is great.  Jerky ok (I like mine salty but they don't add much spice if at all) but you can also get the peppered jerky.  As someone mentioned, I don't care for their pepperoni.   I did have some Italian and German brats made that are amazing.  Overall, good experience but they get busy so you need to call ahead of time to make sure they have availability.
