Some bird shots from up north.
« on: January 13, 2009, 09:19:51 AM »
So I hooked up with some local photographers to run up to the Skagit to look for Eagles. (Shawn, I didn't think you were interested in birds.  ;) )
I also stopped at a birding area west of Conway to see what was there.
This was only my 2nd time out trying my hand at shooting birds.
Here's a couple of the 400+ I shot.

Full frame of Eagle.

100% Crop of previous frame. Guess they got a little dirty from the floods.

The mountains to the east.

Here's a couple Eagle shots.

Hanging out on a Island looking for fish.

Heron from Conway.

Birds move alot faster then Elk, and against the sky, you really need to be aware of the correct exposer.
I still have alot to learn when it comes to shooting birds.

Thanks for looking.

Yeah, I'm not real into birds but I would do it rather than sit on the couch.  I went and shot an eagle at Idylwood park the other day.  I believe that is Saylean's turf...

He snubs birds and butterflies....LOL
They are extremely challenging to shoot and I have so much to learn to have pics like that.  Very nice elkman.  Man I need to get my lens fix

Funny one Bone !

Hell I need to get a camera.... decisions decisions decisions.  Cant decide if I want a new duck boat for next year, another rifle, a new hand gun, or a new fancy camera like you guys have.

Keep taking those bird pics they rock.

Great pictures!

The first one, has real good color and light IMO. I also really like the mountains, I'm a sucker for fresh powder!

Awesome work Elkman.  I say "work", because that level of captures doesn't come easy!
