Lance lives here in Yakima, so I will be trying to meet up with him. I'll probably not even go to the Puyallup show. I took my moose in to the Yakima show, but those guys are so busy, they didn't ahve time to stretch for an official measurement. He has probably shrunk another inch since then, but oh well. As soon as the holidays are over, I'll start pestering Lance. The bull becomes eligible about the 19th of this month I guess. My deer has to wait until January.

Well for deer I normally used Aspheric eyes from McKenzie. I am not quite pleased with them so I am going to try a couple different lines this year. I have a couple pickedout I just can't remember the names.
Are you looking for elk or deer eyes?

Actually both. I am putting in an order for about 3 sets of deer eyes, an elk set for this guy, a bobcat and a fox. You have all of these competition eyes now with the whiteband, but most animals you don't see the white band on for the most part, so seems like extra for nothing almost. I saw a mount that someone got back from the taxi, and they had the white band in the wrong spot. Looked funny.

OFFICIAL SCORE IS IN
Lance came out for the measuring marathon. Only thing he got out of the deal was a bite of Huckleberry crisp, and more bone stories. We started with the moose, then the elk and then my buck.
The elk faired well. It was very happy with his score. Grossed 340 and netted 335 4/8

Check out the moose and deer sheets on their thread Michelle. I am going with the 250 IQ series. Putting in the order shortly. I'm pretty happy Ernie. My goal was a 300 bull, and to home home with a 340 was just awesome, especially with that longbow. I am very tickled! Now all I need is more wallspace.

You don't need more wall space you need a bigger house!

True story there. I am hoping to build a trophy room one of these days.

I got off work finally after multiple shifts and made it to the show. They were still working on the judgeing or figuring out the numbers. No ribbons were posted yet. I checked out a few of the top bucks and knew I was neck and neck with a couple. It looked good for the bull. I ran into Lance and got to BS with him for awhile. Then one of his friends brought in a big whitey to be scored for fun. I got to jump behind the counter and help him score that brute. That was fun. We got to vistit a bunch more. Lance must have thought I was about to pass out, so he scored me a dew. Busy place as they started distriuting ribbons. Pretty soon they put blue on the elk, and then a green. I got first place for Archery elk, and then Best of show for Archery. That came with a $200 gift certificate to Hammers here in town. I was ecstatic. There were some awesome animals. Several good ones from the Rez and another big one from benton. Anyhow YAHOOOOOO!

Then I had to wait patiently for them to sort out the deer.
