dove recipe
« on: August 07, 2015, 05:02:59 PM »
The last time I tried dove was when I was young and my grandpa would just throw them in the cRock pot. This was not my favorite at all. I was wondering what your goto dove recipe is. Thanks

My favorite way to eat them is take the breast, sprinkle some johnnies, slice of jalapeño wrapped in bacon. Then marinade in Italian dressing for 12 hours. Throw them on the grill till the bacon is crispy

Core a jalapeno and fill with cream cheese.  Place in concave portion of the breast and wrap in bacon.  Place on grill until bacon is cooked.

Also if you don't want the heat, pepperoncino peppers work as a substitute, or even bread and butter pickles (spicy kind) make a delicious addition.

I use wadu's recipe, everyone seems to like it.  Heads up for those not aware, the Eurasian Collared dove is considered predatory now, open year round.  At the feeders with song birds in the back yard all the time... pellet gun

Dove breast pot pies
Dove stirfry
Both made using fresh veggies from the garden and washed down with cold Beer..
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.
