Helping people rebuild what? and use our own money? thats what insurance is for! Most of whats burning in ferry is far away from homes..its burning vast mountain areas right now.
Never mind, if you don't already see it then it would take to long to explain it to you

NO need to explain..weird mentality. I am not hunting this year cause I feel bad for others..hell you could feel bad for others everyday of you life!
I guess your not seeing the big picture that I am seeing hunt. But your right.....they all have insurance so they should be fine, no need to worry about or lend a helping hand.

And once again this could go on everyday of your life with some tragedy that happens everyday around the world. you better start working more and sell all your hunting stuff and start helping others...maybe a trip to africa is next to help starving kids on your dime.

So, I wonder how this will affect the ten of us with OIL moose tags?  Hopefully they don't just close off access to all of 101, especially if no fires get going south of 20.  I know my fingers are crossed.

Vulcan Mtn, Empire Lake have no fires, yet ! Hopefully never. You can drive from Republic to Danville on highway 21. The ore trucks are still hauling out of the gold mine in the 204 unit. It's so smoky here, you might see 3-500 yards, then you can barely see anything..
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

Fortunately, our place in Curlew hasn't been effected by the fires. However, I'm still not making any big plans to hunt deer there. Like last year, we'll focus more on predator hunting, maybe snag a bear or 2. It's hard to get excited to hunt deer over there, not only just to leave the stressed out deer alone, but there's plenty good hunting here at home. We got drawn for late buck permits for the Sauk, so we'll be focusing on that. We also have a steer and a hog heading for the freezer in a couple of months, so one more reason not to worry about filling the freezer with deer meat.

Like campmeat and baldopepper mentioned, I don't think people realize the severity of what's going on there. If you can help it, it would be wise to make other plans that includes a unit that isn't half burned up.
$5 is a lot of money if you ain't got it

Hopefully this will work.  Found some photos from inside the fire.

can somebody please tell me why WDFW isn't emailing everyone about this? You'd think that with the season right around the corner, the state should notify license holders to steer clear of closed areas whether it's WDFW owned land or National Forest land.  I hadn't heard about this Sherman closure until I saw this thread today.  How many people will drive 6 hours over there and find out they don't have access? Yes, the majority checks on access before they leave home but not everyone...

Thanks
Every thought of my being is in regards to being a high tech predator and I relish the role.
