Personally, I think UA is way over priced for what it is. Its just Nylon or Polypro, just like all your Russel Gear, Sportsmans warehouse brand, Cabelas, etc. Heck, Costco always has a different assortment of Merino wool tops in solid colors that will way out perform anything poly. Of course if your concerned about matching, then that may not work. just my
I like some of UA's stuff. I have their early season Storm 1 pants i'll be wearing this year. I was shopping for something under $100 for early season pants and no cotton, and the UA seemed reasonable and fit well. That said their under layer doesn't react well with sweat. Synthetics are notorious for this. I would go with icebreaker merino for under layer or something similar, first lite, etc. I'll be sporting UA's long sleeve poly shirt too, but i got it pretty heavily discounted to the tune of like 50%. Otherwise i would have gone with something else because of their stupid high vis stitching on it. It's like bright yellow, drives me nuts, but if the animals don't mind, i guess i don't so we will see. I like UA though, they get a bad rap for the cost of their new clothing but honestly for cold/rainy/windy weather i'm not going to be buying UA, i'll be layering with my Rivers West stuff and merino wool. I may eventually dump some money into First Lite gear but that's a ways down the road.

I have 27 days on my Kanab pants and they are finally starting to get just a slight odor in the seat like 5 of those days have been all out sweat sessions in 100°+ day hikes. Wool is amazing!

I bought a bunch of UA compression clothes (at a significant discount when a retailer was going out of business) because I liked the way they fit. Used them a couple times and realized that they retain and create horrible odors. Gave them all away to high school kids to use for football. Merino is the best option.
