Whatever you have in your hands.   You can sew up a hide:)

I have used my 243, but haven't had a shot opportunity yet.

.22-250   End of story.
Our defense is in the preservation of the spirit which prizes liberty as the heritage of all men, in all lands, every where. Destroy this spirit, and you have planted the seeds of despotism around your own doors.

Out of those choices I'd go with the 25/06. Use a bullet that won't blow up, maybe a Partition. No core lokts!

I think your 25-06 would be perfect.

Plenty of pop, plenty of power.

243 is what I would use, first cause I have one and love it,2nd cause it's accurate and still Carey's plenty of energy out there in the distance. Efficient on powder and plenty of components available to choose from.  Cheap enough for plenty of practice but will do the job well.
Take the 95gr vld @3100 fps(26" tube) still over 1000ft/lbs at 500 yards less than 15" of windage with full value 10mph wind
https://www.howlforwildlife.org/take_action  It takes 10 seconds and it’s free. To easy to make an excuse not to make your voice heard!!!!!!

I don't own a 243. I have a 6.5 Creedmoor which is much better in my mind. IF, I have the luck to see one even within a reasonable range, I don't want to blow it up. I think my 140 grain VLD's would do that.

I did check the Idaho game laws and I did not see any caliber restrictions for anything. Weird or old age and can't read..

i don't think they do have any restrictions on cal. I know of people using a 22-250 for deer in Idaho     6.5 I'm sure would be a great wolf cal.  Maybe a fmj style bullet would be a better choose fur wise

For what it's worth, I was in idaho for the rockchuck derby and talked quite a bit to a local about Wolves. He said he's seen quite a few but there a mile away and going the other way!
I would go as long rang as possible on Cal. Choice :twocents:
