Garmin 24K Topo vs. GPSfiledepot
« on: August 31, 2015, 03:44:42 PM »
Hey everyone. Just bought myself the new Garmin Etrex 35t, but am interested in upgrading to the 24k from the 100k topo. Because of the pretty outrageous cost on the Garmin version, I was wanting to see if anyone had compared the gpsfiledepot version to it anytime recently? I was able to find the Garmin version on Amazon for a solid discount, but the product became available in 2004 according to the description so I'm not sure it's the most recent version on the market. I know the gpsfiledepot version was released back in 2011, and I have downloaded it, but without the Garmin version, I don't really have anything to compare it to. It would be nice to not have to spend the money, but if Garmin's is considerably better, I can live with the expense. I've reviewed plenty of the old threads regarding topo maps, but most of them are dating back to 2013.

Also, I'm curious if anyone else has one of the new Etrex units? The 35t seems pretty nice so far, but with all the NF closures here in Chelan County, I haven't been able to get it into my hunting spots yet to really give it a good workout.

Thanks in advance!
