Crowinghen gets it done
«

Crowinghen and I have been into 4 bears the last 3 days and until today we could not get it done . There has been one malfunction after another.Today we post up on a berry patch , after about 3 hours my wife sees a blonde bear that we came across Saturday , but she loses site of it in the brush so we move down the ridge line to get a better view and hopefully a closer shot . We watch the area for about an hour and he is just not showing himself . We start to gab a little when out of the corner of my eye I catch movement coming off the top of the hill . It's another bear , my wife leans down on a stump and readies herself . She waited for the perfect shot and took it . 125 yards with her 243 , the bear took 5 step and dropped .It was an awesome shot . Hanging weight at the butchers was 179 , maybe around 250 live weight . We have been hunting for about 4 years now and this is her first kill . She is stoked and I'm stoked for her .

That is a GREATTTTTTT first kill, a 250lb Black Bear. Tell your wife she's the man!
Congradulations and way to show some longevity and patience. Now watch out, she's gonna make you keep your knives real sharp from now on!
