Not "Tunk Island" Dude....Tunk Mountain
My dad and I, Dad is 84, have been hunting the Tunk Mt area for four years now, Never saw anything big. Last year we finally found one my dad could shoot. He got a nice little 4X4 muley. A guy from Seattle stopped as we were loading it up and showed us his bigger brother. We never saw much game hanging or running around although we hunted hard, that means no road hunting. We invested some time to learn the area so we kept going back. From what we can gather from locals and other hunters, it used to be a good area, but has gone downhill the last several years. I'll try and figure out how to post a pic from last year. Probably my dads last buck.
You won't find many locals hunting it........... and if they are hunting it you still won't find them.
Terrible area...Better hunting on Funk Mountain..
An aquaintence of mine popped a nice 6x8 Whitey with G2's that were more than 17" up there two years ago. His dad's private land. There's some big Bear up there too. -Steve
