I really had to work for this guy. Shot him Friday at 8:00AM, lost blood trail after 100 yards but continued searching until dark in some very unforgiving terrain. Decided to give up the rest of my hunt to find him and searched from sun up to sun down Saturday, nothing. Finally walked up on him Sunday just before dark bedded down in a creek bottom, the very last hiding hole to check.....still alive. Took 2 more shots to take him down. Tough old bugger to say the least. Spent the next 6 hours in a straight down pour packing him out. It was a hell of a end to this years journey.

Good on you for not giving up and pushing on to find your deer!

Friday took a shot at a nice 5pt but new 243win 3 position safety got the best of me, "CLICK!"  :bash: Spooked him off and never saw him again.  Saturday afternoon and coming up on 3years with no meat in the freezer finally filled my tag  :whoo:... Like they say, "Never pass up on a  buck you'd be happy to take on the last day."

Way to stick with it bone...Many of us are familiar with the sickening feeling of knowing there is a wounded animal out there. So much doubt creeps into your mind. 2 1/2 days with a successful outcome is a worthy effort. Good campfire story material as well

I was literally waking up and sitting up in bed in the camper for 2 nights playing out different scenarios in my head about where he could be. It was an adventure full of emotional highs and lows but I could sleep easy after finding him knowing I gave it my all. I decided to do a shoulder mount strictly due to the fact of how hard I worked to get him, and he will be a great conversation piece.

Had a blast hunting with my son on his Quality buck permit. He made a great 251 yard shot on this bedded 3x4 blacktail.

Quality hunt, quality shot, quality buck, quality time with father and son.

Very impressed!  Way to follow through and do the right thing.

First buck in a couple years, nice SW Washington blacky.  Got him right before dark on the 28th after I missed a nicer one earlier in the day.  I was just sitting on a stump doubting my shooting skills when I look up and he's walking from one thicket to the next.  130 Accubond hit it's mark.  Too bad elk season didn't turn out this good.  Congrats to all the nice bucks.
We could say [Democrats] spend money like drunken Sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken Sailors. It would be unfair, because the Sailors are spending their own money.

Not that it means much since theres not too much land detail and every clearcut looks similar but I swear I know where that is. I wont ask but if it is where I think it is then I hate you haha. Its my old #1 spot and I passed on going there towards the end of season to hunt for "any deer"

I moved to Washington two years ago and this is my first year hunting up here.
I can't complain about this one.

Welcome to the site!
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.
