Small pond or green field?? NE Whitetail/Muley
« on: August 31, 2015, 10:56:54 PM »
Headed over to the northeast corner to hunt a large property for 5 days. Old man (property owner) says he's been seeing some nice bucks regularly. The plot of land has some nice elevation change with basalt ledges and shelfs, nice open timber, and a really long a narrow (150 yards wide, 1/4 mile long) green pasture up the center of the property, and a pond thats about 75 yards in diameter. The pond has water about 4 feet deep.

my question is... what do you all see as more valuable to the bucks right now. Water, or grazing grasses? tree stand opportunities for either option, and a large double bull ground blind set up on the pond already. My gut feel says to set up on the water source on the established double bull blind.
