What is the Boone and Crockett minimum for Blacktail? I thought is was 135. Could be wrong though. Boone or not it's a nice buck.

Taken with a bow, so P&Y would be the score.

Boone and Crockett accepts entries for animals killed with any legal weapon. So the score is a factor for B&C. Since it was killed with a bow it can be entered with P&Y as well.

Yes I know this, so I guess I should have said P&Y is the one I would do.  :twocents:

Ok well is it a Booner or not? It looks like about 130ish to me. 135 would be a stretch I think. So depending on minimum score for b&c will tell me if it's a Booner or not. Thanks

He states in the OP it was green at 148 gross and 144 net.  I'd have a hard time believing it would lose 9" or more in drying.  That would be 1/2" per point and 1" in mass.  Would seem like an awful lot to me :dunno:
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Thanks radsav. I must have missed that score being mentioned earlier. When peeps start threads about big deer (and for his area 148/144 is truly a monster) without posting pics right away threads can get hard to read from end to end. I guess Booner it is! Congrats to Shane for taking the biggest blacktail I've heard of from north whatcom.

Would be nice to get the official score.  I'm quite curious how much shrinkage you get from a velvet buck.  I've heard it can be quite a bit.  I seem to always miss the good bucks when they are in velvet.  So I don't have experience with that. :chuckle:

Ya I don't think the actual net score after drying was ever posted. Would be curious to see what the final score was. Either way book animal or not the deer is a monarch.
