Wow!!!! Congratulations!
After dogging my buck in the snow, wind, and fog since Tuesday - I was finally able to slip an arrow into the boiler room last night! Got him down around 6:45 and he is in a hell hole! Waiting for help to arrive this morning to go bone him out and start the long, steep pack out. I was within 200 yards of this buck 6 different times, and 85 yards 3 times before getting a shot. I'll post photos with I get home. Still on cloud 9!!!Edit 1:__________________________________________________Seriously everyone - sorry for the delay! We got to our truck around 6:45 tonight, stopped for dinner on the way home and I just got down cleaning up and showering. Here are a few pics to hold you over. I will update soon with full story and many, many more pics! Long story short - we've been tracking this buck via trail cam since early spring. I hunted the entire week. I was solo most of the time although friends did join me for a day at a time a couple of times. Over the course of 3 days, I got within 200 yards of this buck 6 different times, within 80 yards 3 times, and finally got a shot at 35 yards around 7pm last night (9/3). Net green score today was 148" with roughly 4" of deductions for a gross of roughly 144". The success on this hunt has nothing to do with my skills and everything to do with the grace of God! From beginning to end He was watching over this hunt and making sure I was safe through wind, snow, rain, fog, and when the moment was right, He made sure everything came together with a clean ethical kill!
