First archery elk hunt.
« on: September 21, 2007, 09:45:33 PM »
So my first archery elk season was a moderate success. I did not kill an elk, but I did get on 3 different bulls and a few different bunches of cows. I was limited in my time, and also in my ability. I was only able to bike about 5 miles round trip and hunt on foot about another 5 each day. We were down in the Winston area and saw tons of people, but we did see a few bulls come out. One guy biked a head out on one of those old plastic kid seats that you attache to the back.

My brother was into elk the first 2 days and then killed a cow on day 3.

I also saw Mother Nature...and was able to take a pic when her skirt blew up! Long legged....

Slider - LOL ...I was wondering how long it would take for someone to comment on the lower legs.
Normally we do saw them badboys off, but the sun was rising and it was already 70 degrees. We only had to go a short distance and the extra couple pounds were not as much of a concern as the temp.

That's cool.  I like to see guys doing things the hard way.  Even if it was a cow, looks like you guys earned it.

Thanks guys.. Though I was limited to how far I could go, it was fun. This was my first year and his second. He has killed two elk, two deer and a bear so

Hey, just saw this, congrats! Too bad you didn't get one too but you've still got late season. Sounds like you guys really earned that one.  ;)
