Elk herd while driving - GMU 651
« on: September 04, 2015, 07:45:54 PM »
I drive for a living and am pretty much always glassin.  Not much of an elk hunter, more whitetail.  But maybe someone could use this helpful tip.  Anyways saw decent size herd around 2pm today out in Skookum Valley on Hwy108 & W Eich Rd.  Think GMU is 651.... Don't know much about the area but figured someone might find this info useful.  So in case you're feeling little down cause ya ain't seen any activity. Well here ya go, YES they are out there

That herd is always in that field. All private around there I think.

Very correct.   Private property and 80% of the herd is limping

Sometimes you can see them on the hillside across the road from the casino as well. Have tried several times to get access but the lady would never budge.

She didn't even budge as you explained how they are already dyeing a miserable, ugly and painful death?

I have seen them as well and there is about 10-15 of them that are collared both cows and bulls to monitor them for hoof rot. It is real bad with this herd.
