First bear calling success... Kind of
« on: September 06, 2015, 09:28:25 AM »
Yesterday went out bear hunting and had a great day of seeing bears. Ended up seeing 5 total, including a sow and 2 Cubs. Absolutely beautiful. Saw a bear head into the trees so I thought I would try call, 2 minutes later I saw its head stick up in the meadow that I thought was only 2 foot brush! A lot taller I guess! It was on a bee line for me. Then it disappeared, never saw again... Oh well great day. Next time...

I too had a "kind of" bear calling success today.  Didnt call in a bear but i did call in a big freakin owl that perched about 20 feet up in a tree about ten yards from me and stared at my call until i finally turned it off and got up to take its picture, at which point it flew off immediately.  Every owl i see is extremely camera shy.

A cotton tail distress call. Would have been better with a pack full on the way out but a great day. Today only saw one bear- at 5 in the morning.  Those eyes... Too early to shoot

A friend of mine had a call in a small backpack and had it going.  A hawk tried to fly off with it! Lol
