Wyoming moose success
« on: September 06, 2015, 11:54:31 AM »
I drew a tag for Wyoming unit 24 moose, which is about 30 miles south of Jackson on the east side of the Wyoming Range. I'll be there hunting in a few weeks, and hope to come back with some pic's of big Brutus with my hands around his antlers.

I saw 9 bulls in 5 days of the hunting, and Brutus here was the biggest.  Came home with 300 lbs of boned out meat.

Awesome bull. Looks like some great country.  What elevation were you at? Looks like you had some frost.

Congrats, looks like he'll make a lot of fine eating.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

I was hunting at around 8400' in the bottom of the valleys along the east side of the Wyoming Range, and it was frosty at daylight when I got him.  I drew this with 14 points.  Its not one of Wyoming's top trophy units, but I could draw this without waiting another 6-10 years.
Halo, you are at the top of the point list for that area, you might want to research it to see if you want to hunt there next year.
