Hogue overmold for Mossy 500
« on: September 07, 2015, 11:40:33 AM »
I have an older  Mossberg 500 that has a very hard butt pad.  I was thinking of replacing the wood stock and forearm with the Hogue synthetic overmold.

Anyone use the Hogue?  How soft is the pad?

Thanks

I have a hogue on my .204. I know doesn't count, has the recoil of a red Ryder. But I'll say in very technical terms the butt pad is pretty gooey.

I've got the Hogue stock on my Howa rifle, very happy with the way it feels for shooting and for it's durability.

$37.99 for a Limbsaver buttpad and I have to install it versus Hogue overmold for $49.99 and it comes with a forearm, it will lighter.  It sounds like I am buying a Hogue.

Thanks for the input.

I will vouch for the Hogue overmolded on a Remington 870. The stock is very comfortable and the recoil pad is just as good as any limbsaver I have used. I plan on putting one on my Mossberg soon.
