Nose Jammer, Dont buy it!
« on: September 08, 2015, 01:38:42 PM »
Moderators feel free to move if not in the correct location.

I tried nose jammer for the first time this weekend, lets just say that more deer winded me and spooked than I've ever had happen before.  This product is not as advertised.  The smell does not smell natural, it smells like the worst most fake vanilla protein powder you can think of.  I could hear deer coming in, then would stop and stomp the ground, blow repeatedly and then take off.  These deer could not see me as I was in a groundblind behind a row of trees from where the deer were located.  This product spooked the deer or at the very least didn't work at "jamming" their nose.  I have never had this many deer spook on me EVER.  Don't believe the hype, I did and came home empty handed.

Try smoking cigarettes and shooting deer with a long bow. :chuckle: My dad does it all the time. That scent control stuff is a joke if you ask me, just a con to make $. Try boiling pune needles, grasses, dirt, pine cones, and brush with water. Put the liquid in a spray bottle. FREE SCENT KILLER and all natural. Save your $ for beer :chuckle:

Just giving my  :twocents: not asking for it.   :chuckle:  Already feel like a big dumby for trying it.  If I had just done my normal routine a big buck would have been arrowed.  Lesson learned.

Tony time to learn how to climb a tree!! I have seen ground blinds work but after they have been out for awhile...  I was over there I feel like the deer were on high alert do to the fires and the bear activity. I was winded way more then usual.

I never use anything that they are not naturally accustomed to smelling. if your using it as a cover scent and they wind it and its new they are going to be alerted. I use apple oil here all over my clothes due to the fact we have tons of apple trees and its something they smell alot

My treestand is already up in my elk area, plus i had my wife with me.  So i was limited, a treestand is usually my first choice.  Guess I'll just have to get them during rifle season.

:yeah: worth noting the difference between cover scent and scent killer.  I don't use scent cover in stands...generally. I just try and bring fresh clean clothes and some of that BF cover spray and wipes.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.
