Jeremy , I have to ask , are you sure of the tag you have ? I thought they gave out 2 eastern elk , 2 western elk and 5 state wide deer tags . I don't think that the WDFW separates east and west on incentive deer tags .

You should end up with two nice Muleys with those tags! :yike:

With his tag he has there is only 5 units in the state he can not hunt. But he wants to stay on the east side an hunt for a mulie .

It will be an eastside specific tag, and also a mule deer specific tag if that's what he chose. He had to choose when he was notified that he drew. So he can hunt any unit on the eastside for a mule deer that had an open season in it this year whether it was a general season or a special permit season. If there is a season open in the GMU while he is hunting in there, he has to use the weapon specific to that season. If there is not a season open while he is there, he can use whatever weapon he wants.

Oops. It seems the mystery permit program has changed since the last time I looked. My bad.

Awesome tag, I'd personally skip over the desert and look in the eastern cascade wintering grounds, mission, entiat, Manson, chewuch, pearygin, etc on up to canada.. There will be something for your liking in almost all of those units.

He states that he has one of two eastern wash. incentive deer tags , that tag does not exist . There are 2 east side elk  tags , 2 west side elk and 5 state wide deer tags . He may have one of the 5 deer tags but as he stated he has 1 of 2  that's why I ask . Could he have been miss informed and has 1 of 2 elk tags. Either way good for him . Being he already has a quality deer tag it would be pretty cool if he was wrong and actually has an elk tag .

Yes you are right it is a statewide tag but when I called olympia to confirm I wanted the tag and to pay for it the program director informed me they ear mark in the draw that two of the incentive deer tags will be drawn out of eastern Washington residents and three out of western Washington residents because of the population and to make sure both sides of the state get a chance at them just one of there check and balance they said.

Nooksack isn't open for the tag? That's interesting.

It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. Enjoy it
