Peep site issues
« on: September 13, 2015, 09:17:06 AM »
So I got the strings replaced on my bow a few months ago by my local pro shop and they also replaced my peep. No issues with all my pre season practice but first day in the deer stand and I find it now sits 90 degrees out. I tried just twisting my string but that really did nothing. Is there anything I can do or is it back to the pro shop?

Take it in and have them twist the string. I'd bet the string settled out.

That is one reason I do not use a peep any more.  If I could figure out how to show a 70 lb compound bow with fingers I would do it.  But I will have the crutch of a release with a loop.

What strings did they put on? How many shots on them? Sounds like a poorly made string set. A 90* turn after months of shooting is a lot. Look and make sure you don't have any broken strands or serving unraveling. Also make sure the peep didn't move. That isn't very likely but will twist the peep. You will need a press/shop to get the string twisted and straighten the peep.
A good quality string will break in in about 20-50 shots. After that any peep rotation during the life of the string will be very small, if any.

If you have any sting noise vibration attachements, those can move up or down and cause your string to twist.

it sounds like the string just settled a little and needs a twist or so to get it lined back up.
