My attempt at calling a moose.....it worked!!
« on: September 10, 2015, 02:17:28 PM »
Suburban moose here in Spokane and I do mean IN Spokane. He has been hanging around for about 10 days. In this video, he is obviously sound, but I saw him yesterday and he was limping badly on the left foreleg. I don't know if he got bumped by a car or got caught up in a fence or what. Hopefully he will make it. He was also carrying velvet in the video and when I saw him yesterday he was scraped bloody.

We live in the little "cove" created by 90 and highway 2. the road in the background is hwy 2. Yes, it is basically my backyard. The first time we saw him he was walking across our patio 15 ft from the house.

Cool video!  I was going to ask if the video was shot in the area near Finch Arboretum.  It sure looks like it.  Sounds like you're pretty close to that area.  Thanks for posting!

A little of the chicken feed would be fine, but not too much

I think I may have seen this same moose on Saturday just North of Thorpe road just down from Assembly. My wife tried to get pictures of it, but it was on the move. This is the second little bull we have seen in the neighborhood in the past month.  Cool video, thanks for sharing.  From your description it sounds like you live close to the Garden Springs exit?

Yes, we are right at Garden Springs. He seems to have moved on, We havent seen him for about a week. We were seeing him almost every evening pruning my willow tree. He did a great job.....very even up to moose height.  :chuckle:

I have another video that I took of him that I think shows him Gimpy on his left foreleg. I hope he navigates all the traffic safely without being hit.

Your neighbors up the street had a small bull like that on sept 4, and he has a wound on his right hip in one of the pictures I saw
