Tagging. Close to home, trying to figure it out over here too.

I usually would drive over to 4th of july lake by sprague when I lived on the west side  for waterfowl, and I've seen a dog or two in there. Might be worth the the extra drive.

From their  website:

Hunting

Elk and youth waterfowl hunting is allowed by refuge permit only during special seasons. During all other times, Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge is closed to all hunting and discharge of firearms and weapons.

Dang, OK thanks guys. You would think they would solicit the land to coyote hunting in order to increase all other populations on the reserve.  I guess the coyotes must play a vital role in keeping all the numbers down to maintain a healthy ecosystem

Has anyone tried hunting that BLM land next to the fish trap lake? I called BLM up in Chelan and the guy said that I could not hunt on BLM property but after reading everything on this forum and others I am starting to think that the guy who told me that was dead wrong

Used to hunt that when I lived in that area. Shot a few dogs but there can be pressure.

I can't say that recreational shooting and hunting are one in the same. I would vote no. They started this about the time I left. Remember hearing about it and there were some pissed off folks, but I was headed south at that point. I'd dig a little deeper... Did you call the Spokane office?

I called at 4 and the close at 4.. It doesnt define what recreational shooting is so I dont know if I can hunt tomorrow morning or not. So I guess Im screwed on that one, I may go hunt a bit of land that is dnr land by amber lake, my buddies girlfriend lives right on it.
