So i fulfilled both goals, a whitetail buck and meat in the freezer...and a spot i will hang a cam and hunt for a few years if need be...

To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Dandy little buck and he will eat up just fine.

I think I may know that cut.....if you are coming "out" is the cut pretty big and the cut on the left....kind of circling around it? If its the same one I was thinking of doing some calling there to see if we could pull any yotes in. We load up and head out Sunday morning.....thanks for the intel and I'll keep you updated. Don't have to worry about those 3 lbs now...you got fresh meat! To bad you won't be out...we could of shared a dinner and sipped a little fireball.

Again, nicely done and sounds like a fun hunt.

Nope, completely different area, one that i never even got you guys close to. I usually don't venture more that a mile or two from camp but with the logging, thinning etc this area has gotten better, there is actually about 5 different cuts of varying years all around each other with timber strips dividing them...
Will be there next Sat calling for a yogi..
