Clearwater Access
« on: October 09, 2015, 07:21:54 PM »
Hi I'll be hunting the Winston Unit this year again but moving to Ocean Shores last year I was talking with a couple of people who got a nice bull out of the Clearwater Unit during Archery Season. So if I don't get anything while up in Winston I'm going to try back home here in Clearwater...

However I'm only asking for good advice as to Access to the area. Anyone know of any roads to get in their or areas to drive in so we can get out and hunt? Anything would be great. Thank You all for your help!

lots of roads in there, have a discover pass or a tree farm permit if you to that part.  Tough to drive all the roads in a single day/tank of gas.  Hope for snow in the park.
There was road work going on the other day on Clearwater rd past the Queets bridge, but maybe that will be done by late bow season.  Otherwise you have to hunt the spots along 101 or take the turn off by the Hoh river for Clearwater forest.  You can also hunt the rest of the GMU north of the Hoh to the Bogachiel.

There's Clearwater GMU (615) and Clearwater-Hoh State Forest (which is in the Clearwater GMU).  It is a fair distance from Taholah, but not a huge stretch.

I did my first scouting at the Clearwater this fall. Great areas , lots of variety, especially enjoyed some of the lower rain forest areas. We were snooping for bear. I'll go back after deer and elk, see if I can scare up some coyotes.
