Wore Whites for 20+ years.  Rancher, Smoke Jumpers, Packs, and Winter Packs, never had a pair I didn't like.

Of course you are all aware thatLacrosse bought out Danner a few years back, and then bought White's out last year. And Lacrosse is owned by a Japanese store chain. Just something to think about when you are making a purchase and maybe thinking it's American.

When I was younger I bought Red Wing loggers. They had a 10 inch style that was great. Then they quit making it.

One of my favorites was a Georgia Boot low heel lace to toe logger. Very comfortable. They changed the sole on them now and they aren't the same.

The original Danner Quarry was comfortable. Then they messed around with it. I wear a pair of Rain Forests now. Juries still out.

Have worn Hathorn(after they were bought out by White). Won't do that again. They aren't nearly the boot my grandpa wore.

I have had Hawthorns and Whites. The Hawthorns, the arch would break the glue and squeak but that was after wearing them in a lot of fires. The Whites have never done that. Both have been great boots and comfortable.
The Nick's, I hear great things about and would give them a shot for sure. I am on my 3 set of Whites.
Whites has different soals that you can put on them, and if they don't need to be fire rated you will save a bit more that $100 on them.

I roll on the outside of my foot. I went to a Carolina 8" flat sole low heal tha wore great on concrete. I think I had about 5-6of them and it appears they have changed sole style. Im headed to Oliver-Hammer in sedro to check them out.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Wesco, out of Scapoose oregon. they will hand fit to your feet. Best I ever owned

here is a link

Carl is a smart man. Wesco makes the best boots I have found. Over $400 per pair, but worth the cost. Also, they will rebuild them for about half the cost.
