After many years of non interest in hunting like my cousins, I got the fever last fall after being introduced to archery. Started going to the range, following the forum, watching videos, tv, trying to learn what I could to be a successful bowhunter. My introductor and friend took me to check his cams and do some scouting. Gradually acquired my gear and ready to go. Hunting westside NW for bucks and bulls, had some nice ones on a couple cameras and a plan of action. Saw cows, does and even one buck on the way in, but all before hours. Sat in a blind, hiked in some areas, checked out clearcuts and edges Saw only a few does and that's all. Nobody has seen any daytime bucks in the area at all. I'm still fired up and realize this is hunting. Im learning and loving it. Its also about the nature, the camaraderie, and that bull that now I'll have to persue in hunter orange. Thanks to you guys for your tips and encouraging stories. I'm still hopeful for success, if not in my inaugural season, next year baby!
