Pull the trigger assembly and clean. I've had that happen when to much lube builds up!

I would bet Marty is correct - take the action out of the stock - remove the allen screw that holds the trigger in place.  Flush the trigger with a good strong cleaner - then re-lube it and put it back in the rifle.  Should be good to go...
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

Had the same thing happen with my Big Horn while in the field. Good thing I used both safeties. Do what you want, but this starting to sound like a possible problem, always release trigger safety before unscrewing the bolt safety.

The same problem...

A friend of mine attending a gun show just called and asked if I wanted another MK-85 - I reluctantly said - no - really do not need another one and I did not want to spend the money.  Then he says it has a problem when you pull the hammer back it will not stay back so the guy offered to sell it for $85.  Everything else on the rifle looked perfect including the bore.

For 85 and probably knowing what the problem is - yes I took the deal...

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

I had this happen 5 years ago on my Bighorn- just like Sabotloader said- I cleaned the trigger assembly out really well.  Problem solved, and hasn't returned!

Sabotloader, can you review the process of using brake cleaner to clean a muzzleloader trigger assembly?  I could give my version, but it wouldn't do it justice like you could.

I took my rifle to a gunsmith and he took the trigger assembly apart and cleaned everything! I didn't want to chance messing it up!
