Congrats.

Too bad the meat left out there can't be used for shooting another bear off of it.  :'(
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

So the wdfw biologist sent me an email this morning where he was released. He traveled just about 15 miles as the crow flies, through some extremely rough country, in only 10 days. Pretty crazy where he ended up.

I believe it's due to the drugs they use to tranquilize the Bears.

That's interesting. I had a couple bears 2 years ago wrecking my beehives. Talked with the head of the Mill Creek WDFW division about it and she said short of me shooting them, (Tried my best, but couldn't get them to show during shooting hours) there was little to be done as they would not trap problem bears during active bear season specifically because of the problem of releasing them with drugs still in the meat. Maybe that's changed.
If man was not supposed to eat animals, God wouldn't have made them out of meat.

NICE. I think I read here somewhere that you just started with a bow recently? (old post?). That's awesome . I think the most exciting kill is the unexpected "gift" that comes your way when you least expect it.

congrats on the bear

Awesome! I wonder why the meat was inedible, is it because it was eating some crap in the town they tagged him in? Sucky, but awesome you got the bear.

the bear most likely had to be tranquilized and they drug they used stays in they're system for 18 months or longer depending on the drug they use
