I think i have a bighorn 50cal and normally shoot 100gr pellets for deer and elk. What would be the max powder I can safely shoot out of it?

Some good advice I got was that with modern muzzleloader you don't have a long enough barrel to burn more then 120gr of powder so anymore is just blown out the barrel. I think they handle up to 150gr tho.

bighorn or elkhorn? bighorn is a knight and an elkhorn is a cva. You should take a good look at what you actually have for the best advice/help along the way.

I think CVA also makes a buckhorn as well?

We really need to know the rifle - there is a lot of difference in the max load of a Knight and older CVA's.
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

The other think to keep in mind, you will only get about 100 fps out of that extra 25-30 grains. I would rather hit perfect slow than miss with a faster bullet.

I have the elkhorn pro mag, the manual said 150 grains of FFg.. I never went over 110, accuracy fell off really fast at 110 grains
