Know the light
« on: September 25, 2015, 07:27:59 AM »
I heard a story just recently about a bull killed close to my grandparents farm in central Montana. He shot it 20-30 minutes before legal light. There was a fish and feathers officer there who watched the whole thing and confiscated the bull. He measured 422. The moral of the story is know when legal light Is.

That would suck...  Always good to check shooting hours, most of the time the shooting hours are pretty conservative in relation to how dark it actually is but every once in a while with a full moon  it can be deceiving.

If I cannot see the sight pins/crosshairs and/or the animal to aim at, it's too dark. and for me that usually happens before shooting hours end and after they start. Walked away at least a couple times late in the day because too dark to see sight pins but still have 15 minutes of legal shooting hours.
