As I came in from the top and attempted to "death from above" i found no goats while glassing all morning. The wind picked up very heavily during the afternoon so I decided to Drop over the edge and walk the goat trails.

This proved to be valuable and a bit crazy at the same time. I learned they love the steep slippery stuff that a human with rapelling gear would be happy climbing but this Indian had his pucker factor at 10 as he carefully hugged the wall doing the boot - scoot - and-boogy. As I Got to the middle of this canyon from the top the wind showed no sign of letting up so I went straight up to the top and walked the road back thanking god he didn't want me to learn how to fly today.

A few days later I came back and parked midway up and dropped over the edge from there. A late morning start didn't help and I was beginning to think pale face brother no-hair was leading me on, telling pale face brother 2pt slayer, lets play a trick on the red man and send him on a wild goose chase...

After a week I decided I wasn't going to let pale face brother no-hair have the last laugh so I went back. This time i parked at the bottom and was going to walk the bottom up and back and glass up the cliffsides.

I got up there mid-morning and started my hike. As I got to a point where I could see up and down in either direction I sat down and got comfortable. After a couple of hours I started to notice some fog creeping in. Within 20 mins the entire canyon was bogged down with smoke like fog. Pretty soon the field of vision was reduced to about 50yds. I left again empty-handed. ..

that was a last minute decision that morning, what the wife didn't know won't hurt her

This was the start of the smoke creeping over the top of the opposite side of the canyon. I soon found out the wind shifted and I was bombarded by the smoke from the cougar creek fire

As a few had heard of my adventure, tips started rolling in about other areas I didn't even know of or even held goats. I checked out some spots on day trips while the boss was sleeping or at work

Most of the areas held good fresh sign but limited time didn't provide me with results...

I was grateful for the assistance and if I had more time I'm sure they would have panned out.

Now, as time has progressed up came time for pale face brother 2pt slayer to hit the woods in search of something bigger than a 2pt.

As that journey had started I was getting more smoke signals about areas to the north of where I've currently been and they showed great promise.

As smoke signals poured in pale face brother pack - goat (blrman) decided he would chase billies on a hillside and taunt me with pics of him riding billies on the hillside like some kind of rodeo champ

He's got time to "high-ho-silver-away" but not time to at least tie one up for me at the bottom near the trail so I didn't have to scale the mt.

As I ventured to the mts of the north I soon learned I'd be giving them goats a run for the money.
