Okay, now back to the current chapter.

As I was sitting at work trying to bribe the wife to let me head out the next day I got some messages from no-hair that he had spotted some goats in an area they had never seen them before. The message and subsequent pic said hurry! !!

There was no budging the wife as she was almost fed up and the cost was starting to increase so I grabbed her and said let's go. I left work like a bat out of hell heading for home to grab my gear. I was nearly undressed by the time I got home and ran in and luckily my gear was by the door so I changed right there and was out the door and on the road. As we were speeding up i got more messages saying he's not far and now there's more popping out all over the cliff side.

After a quick pit stop for a pre-celebratory milk shake :chuckle: we arrived. As we proceeded to the area no-hair and 2pt slayer were pointing to where this billy had been last 1.5 hrs. I nearly used my rifle as I had left my bow :bash:  2pt slayer lent me his bow as we were both lefties though he has these long hulking arms good for beating down attack dogs with a 2x4  :chuckle: he had a bit heavier poundage than me and longer pull.

So with 1 quick dry fire we set let's do it...I creeped over into position and drew....

Honestly, I had only shot about a dozen times with field tips and here I  am 25yds uphill with wind hitting me in the face at full draw with someone else's bow staring at a goat that just turned broadside..........who does that, honestly, who does that..... :dunno:

As my heart started pounding and I began to think relax damn it, relax, then don't f this up, don't f this up don't f this up i apparently let loose........I heard thwack! And seen this sucker rear up like a horse preparing to charge and bolt downhill full speed!!!!!! I seen the arrow sticking out his front shoulder and all I could think was wow.............what a rush..............

After a few wahoo s and handshakes the work was about to begin as we tried to project where he went. .......

As we headed downhill another hunter got tossed into the mix. He Calls Himself ghosthunter. So the fellowship of the goat began.

No-hair pulled out the 1 ring that ruled them all, the 6.5, just in case.  As we proceeded into the valley of mordor in search of a goat we moved around the rock face midway down looking for signs of tracks and/or blood. While a few looked down below I went sideways to some chutes and no-hair climbed up a bit. Nothing for awhile and we decided to head down further.

Still nothing and then 2pt slayer seen him. He had only ran downhill about 70 yds and stopped on a ledge. The arrow came out his chest and he was pouring out blood down his leg and wobbly standing there. Light was fading and he was about to expire in place so the decision was made to put him out of his misery and hurry up there and bring him down as he was in a spot not safe for climbing at night.

I made it down and started heading out when I came across this camp with their wagons circled as I rode by on my pony. I decided to stop in and be polite and show these pale faces that not all red men burn wagons

As I entered the encampment titled "camp get sum" i was greeted by pale face brother man-with-hair-all-over-face-who-cooks-fancy (Whitpirate). We talked we laughed we shared sprites over our make believe campfire.

Soon enough it was time to head home before the boss got off work. Well soon enough I heard pale face brother man-with-hair-all-over-face-who-cooks-fancy decided to make an extravagant dinner and decided he wouldn't offer the red man any... :bash: :bdid:

I offered to break bread with the savages but Chief Takes-to-Long-For-Story spoke of Angry Squaw at home that would question what he was doing all afternoon.  Even offered elk meat from pile I was cutting.  All red faces must have too much elk as chief refused.

*in all seriousness Plat is great and welcome at our fire/table anytime*

The decision to end it now was tough as we could let him bed and be up there all night or risk going up there and pushing him to run further away and possibly lose him during the night.  No-hair set up the ring (6.5) and I got in position.
