Margret cow tag
« on: September 29, 2015, 08:46:10 PM »
Hey folks I just wondering if you think I got a good chance about a Margret cow. I drew the muzzleloader antlerless tag for Oct 3-9. Y'all got any tips thanks! I really wanna kill my first elk and first significant sized animal!

I think you stand a good chance up there. Hope you bought the Weyco permit. Sure gives you a lot more area to hunt.

That said. It may take some time and effort to fill that tag. 5 years ago if I had the same tag I would have just drove up and down the hiway till I saw 1 close to the rd. Not so easy anymore.

Did get out Sunday up there and saw 1 herd. About 15 animals. 1 average 5x5 and a kick ass 6x6 with beautiful 3 point crowns on each side. went up and looked again tonight. Nothing. But plan on hitting it Thursday evening and all day Friday to see if I can find him again.

Good luck up there.

Thanks man. We went up Sunday and ran into one nice size herd. And a few deer. Are you muzzle loader hunting?

Yep! Probably by myself most of the week. Brother in law will be with me Sunday. Hopefully more than that if he can get the time off. Hope to get one and get back to work. But have the whole season off!

If I was you I would be checking in on that herd. Hopefully you can find them again.
