muzzy cow tag
« on: September 30, 2015, 07:36:30 AM »
Well my daughter and I have been waiting for her time to get out after her Yakima youth north muzzy cow tag and last Thursday she had an unfortunate mishap and fractured her hip. :bash: She is bound and determined to still go and try to fill her tag crutches and all. I typically stay far away from roads as possible so this will be a new adventure for us. If anyone has any advice of a place that will be somewhat easy to pack her in for an opportunity at filling her tag it would be very much appreciated! I typically don’t do this but for my kids I’ll step out of my comfort zone and try anything. The units available for her are 336 340 342 346. I’m was planning on hunting 346 before this. Thank you!

I'm  of no help. As I'm  not familiar with the area. But I  wish the best for both of you! Good luck! Hopefully she has a success hunt and is also able to heal quickly  and  completely!

Wow. That's a pretty serious injury and with it having just happened right before her season, I'd be scared of making it worse. Is she really able to already get around on crutches with a broken hip? Must be very painful.

I would still plan on hunting 346, since all the other units are open for the general muzzleloader season and will be very crowded. 346 only has special permit hunts, without counting I'd say there's probably less than 100 permits in the unit with the same season. So it's going to be much better for her than any of the other units. Good luck!

in order to have her safe and not re injure her hip,I'd find where they have crossed and get her to a stand. you cow call in a different location that will help her get a shot.don't drag her around it'll just make the injury worse

If you must I would go the stand and wait for the chance to intercept a cow.  That said I would have a serious consult with the doc. She is young and will have future opportunities.  It shouldn't matter what she wants, sounds like she is a daddys girl and might want to make dad proud.  It's a great learning and parenting opportunity.
