Hunting the Winston the first part of the season but was wondering if you need to be drawn or special permit to hunt in White River? Or is there a access area to hunt? State Land? Haven't been up there in Years... I mean years like when I was 6 years old... lol

The white river is permit only for elk. Plenty of forest service land if you draw a permit.

Around 15 years ago it was open for archery the first two weeks of September every year...then I passed hunter safety and it went to permit only for the whole 653 GMU.
