Getting ready for Mt.Spokane South youth hunt
« on: October 03, 2015, 09:40:16 PM »
We're planning on making our first trip up next week. I was hoping to do some preseason scouting, but with the fires we were not able to make it up. Has anyone been up Thompson Creek, or up by the Park lately? Read on the IEPwebsite that their doing some logging up Thompson Creek.

I was up in the park today, but have spent a lot of time on the paper company land. There are plenty of does running around there for a youth to have a reasonable chance for success in any of the areas they aren't logging.
There is something just indescribably painful about being stuck behind a prius on the interstate.

Not sure about Thompson Cr. Thre is another section on Foothills and another off of Lake View and Cambell (be careful of property lines on this one). We were at Foothills and saw lots of sign. We used to go to Thompson Cr all the time and we would literally see moose every day just driving. I talked to Shelly last week. It's back open to motorized vehicles and they are in the process of removing all the signs.

Thanks wannab. Because of the warm weather predicted this weekend, we're going to concentrate our efforts up by the ski park. I know of one other youth hunter that will be up there as well.
