Made some more sets today and took a few pics.  Third pic I took then realized I forgot dive sticks.

thank you for the support.  Set the bobcat trap there because I found multiple piles of scat and tracks all around the beaver lodge and runs. Now I just need some beaver meat to sweeten the pot

When you catch a beaver put the skinned carcass out in an area where you know a cat is. If you own a trail cam set it on the bait. Once a cat feeds on it then set your cage with a leg inside. IMO this increases your catch rate and cuts down on trap check times.  :twocents:

Use all your carcasses to pre bait with and what ever else you can get your hands on. Lots of duck and goose carcasses available wright now, your deer hide will work also.
This cat is on a deer hide.

I have done "pre-baiting" before for bobcat just not for trapping. I used to set up a trail cam on gut piles of mine and friends deer just to get pics of bobcats and cougar. Then I would know when they are in the area so I could try to call them in.  Great idea thanks guys! I already have some bait, saved all my deer bones and fat

Got a few more sets in today. Not a lot of pics cause it was raining half the time. Found a better spot on my first beaver pond so I moved one trap. Figure I'll learn on these than hit it harder when fur primes up a bit more.

This set has a log they are going under the a gap and then the entrance to a den so I stuffed the trap in the opening then fenced everything off so they are funneled to my trap.  Got some dry land mink sets near by so it will get checked daily till pulled

Also got a trail cam placed on my cat set on video mode.  Going to pre bait 3 other locations tomorrow in fake cubby sets to hide from the birds and get cams on those as well.
