No cut them out carefully not to puncture and you can peel the meat and casing around them off so it looks like 2 balls hooked together and hang them on a coat hanger in a dry but cool area . When you get ready to make some lure then you use a good sealable jar

thanks for the info. They where easy to remove.   Are the oil glands worth keeping?

Well nothing today but got my cat sets baited with beaver and got 2 more mink traps finished up and ready to set in the morning. Last night was cold and windy so I didn't have high hopes for my coon set. This time of year I normally only see coon sign when the weather is decent.   Been seeing a lot of bobcat sign down between my beaver sets and mink set so I may pull my deepest (farthest walk from the truck) cat set Monday and move it to the trail I keep seeing the tracks

Sounds like a tasty combo.
I've been researching lures. Especially long distance lures for up high. Any suggestions?
i can't share the secret call lure I was given but I have had some interest with craven's "gusto" you can  smell this stuff long before you get to your set and I can tell you you do not want any spilled in your truck. Not even the tiniest drop. I triple zip locked it

Taking some Cavens Gusto out tomorrow. How have you been using it? Any tips?
I've never used any lures, just straight carcass as bait

ive been taking a peace of tie wire and wind it around a peace of wool or cotton. Looks like a wire Q-tip on one end and a j or hook on the other. Dip it in the bottle and give it a little stir. Then hang it in the trap above the bait in the back or hang it on a limb just above the set.  I've been playing with both.    :chuckle: have you smelled that gusto yet?  Strong stuff lol.

Better pic of the mink. This one was quite the screamer too. Every time I catch a mink that smell gets stuck to my clothes and in my nose. I smell it for hours!

Well dry run today but I got my cat set pulled and got it switched over to coni trigger and tuned up one of my coon traps and almost finished another cat trap. Hoping to finish in the am and get all 3 set.   My swim threw was pushed out of the way today so I staked it good and touched up the fencing. They are iced in again and it looks like they where digging the bank den again. Should still be a large beaver and 2 two year olds and 2 more kits in this pond. This is the pond where they have eaten them selves out of house and home so I plan on taking all I can get from this spot.
