Bow strings??
« on: August 28, 2015, 09:08:59 PM »
I bought a used Mathews dr2 a few years ago from a friend. I have been trying to get enough range time to feel confident about a clean shoot. Anyway how long to strings last? I don't want to damage the bow. Thanks Jason

It depends on how often you shoot and how often you wax your strings. I bet you can get the hunting season out of it. Wax the hell out of it. I shot my used Switch back plenty for a long time on a used string....

I change mine every 1-2 years depending on shot count.

I change my bowstrings every other year.  I've been getting my strings from www.60xcustomstrings.com and have been pretty happy.

I just replaced my first string, in 37 years of bow hunting.....   :o  I'm on my fourth bow in that time.   I did have a cable break once but the string was fine.   :chuckle:
