You are only allowed to camp in the designated sites.  I used to hunt out there years ago, but then a bunch of years went by and when I went back, there were too many people in the little area I liked to hunt.   :(  Good luck.

Yea, I looked at all the camp sites and talked Willipa parks people. Thanks for the response.

It's a great place to hunt. I have seen lots of animals on it. Like mentioned before there is camping only in designated areas only. I can see long island from the back yard when I walk down to the bay.

Get ready to get wet! Haven't hunted there for a few years now, but there are some nice bulls to be had. Its pretty dang thick out there, but if the tides are right, you can slowly paddle up the slews where they like to come out and feed. Don't forget the bear tag either, saw 5 in one day out there once. Like I said, its been quite a few years since I've been there so it could be different now. But you will get wet!

Late season hunter numbers are much lower.  If you're up for it, it can be quite a challenging adventure to hunt Long Island.  Go prepared for anything.  Also, the 2007 storm kinda screwed up many of the timber areas I use to hunt.  Still plenty of elk, just a little harder getting around.

I figured late season would be better for hunter numbers. I'm used to rain and thick country growing up and hunting around Forks, was just looking to have a little more chance with being able to shoot a cow or a 3 point or better bull.

Thanks for the replies.
