Old age? Harvested? What happened to him?

At 525-yards, he had you pegged.  Wow, what eyesight.

Deep Water, you have really put in the effort to locate these monsters.  I hope that you have shared in the harvest as well.

The bull started to regress over the next several years and was eventually taken by a rifle hunter that was drawn for access.  However, I can't say for certain that the bull that was killed was the same bull because I never got to see anything other than a picture of it.  At that point in it's regression it was changing so much year to year that it can be difficult to tell.  A friend of mine seems convinced that it was him and said that it still scored around 350".  I believe the year the footage was taken was the bulls best year in terms of total score.  Both antlers were picked up from the prior year and one from the year before that.  Also, one of the antlers from the year after I filmed him was picked up.  The biggest single antler the bull ever grew was from the year before I filmed him, a friend of mine picked it up and it scores about 167 4/8.

Deep Water, you have really put in the effort to locate these monsters.  I hope that you have shared in the harvest as well.

The morning I filmed the bull it started out foggy.  As the fog started to lift I spotted the bull from 750 yards.  I pulled my truck off to the side of the road and walked down a dead end spur road and part way down a ridge to setup and film the bull from just over 500 yards.  After filming him for 20 minutes or so the bull spotted a couple vehicles back behind me on the road where my truck was parked.  That was the point in the video where the bull just stopped and stared, this actually went on for 8 minutes so I just edited it out.  The vehicles on the road behind me just happened to be a couple of buddies of mine that happened to be driving by and see my truck with nobody in it.  They also saw a bull across the canyon and wanted to get a closer look to see what it was so they drove past my truck and down the dead end spur and the bull had seen enough at that point and decided it was time to go.  Fortunately I got some great video before they showed up.  It took a long time to finally get that bull on video, he had incredible self-preservation instincts and he loved to live where it was thick.
