Again, If there is no dike breach then please do tell how this becomes a salmon habitat project?

Did you bother to read the document in the link I posted?

One more time, There never were crops grown on the property in question.
(The property being referred to by the O.P. is the piece of WDFW property next to the dike near the mouth of the Samish river.)

It has always been a Reed Canary infested POS for as long as I can remember. (prime field mouse habitat)

Yes, your public lands are being used for salmon restoration projects. Yes, crops have traditionally been grown on those properties to feed waterfowl. I never stated otherwise.

Again, What did you do about it?

Nevermind... just fly to Alaska to hunt ducks.  :bash:

Ok internet tough guy. No need to get your feathers all ruffed.

We will see the results in the next couple years.  IMO the hunting will fall off.  Just like the other "habitat improvement" projects that have taken place in the last 10-15 years.

Have a great day

there was never a "plan" to alter the dike on Ebey Island either. Mother Nature finished it off and it hasn't been repaired in the 10 years since. Rumor had it there was some "help"
Ebey used to be a decent walk-in area. now you pretty much need a boat or other flotation device to safely hunt it.

Since its not salmon restoration, where is the $ coming from? Didnt say anything in the article. The one good thing is a parking area so that there is a place for fishermen to park instead of having to pay the access fee to the adjacent  land owner.

No internet tough guy act here. No feathers ruffled. Just checking your reading comprehension. That's all.

I'm on your side in this. I get it. But, the question is still what did you do about it? Fly to Alaska to hunt ducks? That makes you part of the problem in my opinion. I hear lot's of bitching, but only know a hand full of guys that have stepped up to the plate and actually tried to stop it, fight it, actually do something about it. It's like the bumper sticker "If You Don't Vote, Don't Bitch".

Special T,

As far as I can see the funding came from the USDA.

No bitching here. I am into reality. All we can do is vote. And I still managed to vote while spending most of my time, for the last 10 years in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I'm sure your friends put up a decent fight, but you are fighting a loosing battle in this state.

Hmmm strange. The only other funding ive heard them do here in the valley was hire guys with night vision to shoot elk in the valley.

 :yeah:

We were just talking about that goat rope from last year. Pretty expensive "sharpshooters" that couldn't find elk during daylight hours.

Those tags should've went to the local hunters or even up for auction.  But what happens, a bunch of money gets wasted on shooters to thin the herd.

Disgusting. Those tags should've gone to sportsmen. And we had no say in the matter.
