I'm shooting a knight bighorn western with 295 grain powerbelt copper with green tip. With 100 grains of 777 pushing it. I've shot out to 100 yards and was very accurate at the range with this load. I had a small window to shoot through. I tried to get a double lung shot, but with a small tree curling up in front of the lungs  and him looking my direction , I had to act fast. All i had was the shoulder so I took it. I lost a little meat to blood shock. But  I was able to save most of it.
I looked again at my pic and noticed my gun wasn't in it. That was my father in laws gun. He hunted a different area that day when I shot my bull and forgot to bring his radio with him. :bash: So  I was on my own. Good experience tho for me packing him out myself and memories to last a lifetime.   :chuckle:

He's a beauty. Congratulations.

Just got back home from elk camp after my first year muzzleloader hunting and was very successful. Long story short, I shot him Thursday morning at 50 yrds and dropped him in his tracks. After quartering him up, and making a meat pole at the kill site to cool the meat. I had him all back to camp before dark by myself. I really had a lot of fun the whole week. I wish there was more talking where I was at, but the end result for my first muzzle season ended pretty well. :chuckle:

Good-looking bull!!! General season west side?
