Unsworth is at least heading in the right direction, just very slowly. He at least got the WA State Patrol to finally conduct an investigation of some of our allegations, which is far more than Anderson ever did. Also; Crown is gone, and I suspect Unsworth may have had something to do with that. So, although he isn't doing things fast enough for all of us, there is hope! I like being optimistic whenever possible. You've got to remember that Unsworth is new to WA and even if he wants to make changes he needs to do it in stride so as to not turn too many people against him by acting too swiftly. I don't know what he thinks I can only guess, but I would think he wants to clean things up a bit and get the WDFW acting more in unity again. With that said, if I was him I would be making the changes slowly too.

I am all for going slowly and carefully, but Unsworth is at the point now that I think someone should check and see if he even has a pulse. The problem with taking this long, is they are certainly going to lose more good officers as the harassment and retaliation continues, while everyone waits for a new chief.
But...At the same time, when you are new and in charge, you often get to get away with bigger changes early.......

That's is what apparently impressed the commission enough to hire you. Or it could be the reverse.....expressed the same old, same old, don't rock the boat type interview which made the commission feel comfortable. Either way, another dud at this point....JMO.

I can't figure out what is going on. Why bother with the full WA State Patrol investigation, if they are just going to ignore the findings and keep things status quo?
Bigtex: Since you seem to have the inside line on all things WDFW; in your opinion is there any chance Director Unsworth will actually make a decision on the enforcement chief within the next year? Crown left in mid-June (I think) and was "temporarily" replaced by Cenci supporter Chris Anderson, who is still acting chief. Nothing will ever improve without a different chief, and it certainly won't improve with the personnel they have in-place at present. So, do you see any hope of WDFW getting a permanent chief who is ethical and moral, or are the officers of WDFW facing more of the same for the foreseeable future?

The longer it takes the worse it will get. Swift action needs to be taken. Unsworth has been with WDFW for about a year and a half, how long are we still going to the play the "well he's still new game"? He stepped into a job where big decisions need to be taken from day 1, and in terms of the Enforcement Program he has proven to show he cant make a single decision at all.

At this point I think the best we can hope for is a new Governor. Get everyone you know to vote for Bill Bryant

Then we have the same problem all over again.
