Sgt. Jackson has since resigned/retired from DFW.  They lost yet another excellent senior leader.

I am pretty sure he still is in his position?

I have plenty of info to support the culture of lies by upper management in WDFW. They al should be fired starting with the Director who sits back and refuses to comment on anything except Indian fishing rights.
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checked by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."

Enforcement lost another good one.

Captain Dan Brinson gave up his law enforcement commission and is now the new Wildlife Conflict Section Manager. Dan's name probably sounds familiar. He was the Captain in Region 6 for many years before he was essentially forced out by Cenci & Crown and into a HQ Captain position leading internal affairs and other management activities. Only to have his former Region 6 Captain job be opened up a few short years later and given to Cenci's best friend.

Dan applied to be the new Chief, but apparently Unsworth didn't want him. Dan's name was tossed around on here after he had a nearly fatal vehicle accident, but still put out an email to enforcement employees talking about morale in the agency.

FYI, the Chief's position has sat vacant for over a year now...

Who knows.

With Dan's transfer out of enforcement WDFW now has just one Captain who has been in a Captain's position for over 5 years, that being Chris Anderson who is the Acting Chief....

Any chance unsworth will be gone soon?  Can the commission fire him, or would they?

Dan and Ted are good guys. To bad. Wdfw is in shambles right now. I know Czebotar and I'm sure most of what he wrote is true.

I don't see him leaving anytime soon. Realistically, the only times you see department heads being fired is if they're embroiled in a big screw up. And I'm talking front page news, top headline screw up, not Hunt-WA WDFW enforcement drama that only those who hunt and fish really care about. I'm not downplaying the issues in enforcement, but unfortunately most people don't even know what a game warden is, and wouldn't care about the drama going on there.

Straight out of state law: "The director and commission staff shall serve at the pleasure of the commission." Now the real question comes down to this, the Governor essentially hires the Commission, the Commisson hires the Director. Do you actually think the Commission would fire a Director without first having the Governor sign off on it? Highly unlikely....

The new enforcement chief (from Alaska) starts September 1.  Cenci is fishing in Alaska.  Sgt Jackson retired from DFW and is now Assistant Police Chief in a small Pierce County City.

Almost sounds like a merger between WA state patrol, Wdfw enforcement and state parks enforcement might be beneficial over what is going on now.
My interpretation of the rules are open to interpretation.
Once I thought I was wrong but I was mistaken.

I know, but I think it would be a vast improvement over the current situation. And I don't see any chance that the state government would remove the current problems.
