380 purchase in the near future
« on: October 13, 2015, 09:17:35 PM »
Looking to purchase a 380 for my CCW.  For those out there that do this, or did with the 380, what models are great and which ones should I avoid? Thank you for any help in this

I like my Taurus tcp 380.  picked it up for $200.  don't pay more than $219 cuz that is what some gunshops in Spokane sell them for.  they weigh 10 oz.  not very accurate past 10 yds.  stay away from the s & w bodyguard 380.  it has a very long trigger pull.  I gave mine away.  there are lots of others so google them for reports about them.  good luck.  mike w

I just purchased the Glock 42. I am loving it. Light and very easy to hide. I was carrying a full sized S&W that weighed 39 oz. loaded. The Glock 42 weighs 16. Paid $411 plus tax new.

:yeah:  I'm going for the 43 next.  Wife will get the 42.  42 is a dream to carry concealed.
Everyday it's with me, but when I hit the woods it's the 29.

I would buy the Glock if you are going to carry it in a holster.  If you want to carry in a front pocket, I would look at the S&W Bodyguard .380.  Either of them are acceptable choices.

Ruger LCP if you're looking for a pocket carry option.  There are 6 of them in our family and everyone loves them.

I bought a walther p380 a handful of years back thinking it would be just like the p22.  It really was a big step down in quality in my opinion, it shoots straight, but feels sloppy with a pretty loose upper receiver.

I have a Ruger LCP. I like the "Sorta" double action first shot feature and it's surprisingly accurate at the range. All in the black at 7 yards. Very little perceived recoil. And . . . it is soooooo light! Much better than my Detonics .45 (which is home in the safe due to weight).

My daughter always has her Sig-Sauer .380 with her, but she's a real estate agent.  :mgun2:

call the gunshops in your area.  ask them the price for an tcp 380 in ruger(pt 738).  they should be 209 -$219.  only one clip at that price.    there are 3 shops in Spokane at that price and they all advertise on this site.   and they weigh only 10 oz and fit in your pocket.     mike w

some people are saying lcp, I am saying tcp.  just want make sure you know there are 2 guns involved.  I would get the tcp 380 and if you don't like it then go to a more costly gun if you want.  I personally don't like glock , they are smoother but are overpriced but that is just me,  I am not rich.  mike w

Ive been running the Sig p238 for 6 months now. I shoot it better than any other pistol. I front pocket carry it, IWB carry it, cargo pocket carry it, and wallet pocket carry it.  Desantis nemesis holster with the flap mostly.

6 round mag dissapears consealed and the 7 round mag makes it feel like a whole new gun when you grip it. I probably have 800-1000 rounds through it.

Fantastic firearm. It's the only Sig I ever liked...

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.
